The United States and Britain conducted airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, the Amran governorate, and other regions, according to Al Masirah TV, the primary news outlet operated by the Houthi movement, on Sunday.
Houthi media and local residents reported that around nine airstrikes targeted Sanaa, its surrounding areas, and the Amran governorate.
Since November last year, Iran-backed Houthi militants have attacked international shipping near Yemen in solidarity with Palestinians amid the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
These Houthi attacks have prompted retaliatory strikes by the U.S. and Britain, disrupting global trade as ship owners divert vessels away from the Red Sea and the Suez Canal, opting for the longer route around Africa’s southern tip.
